Quality Center Capicom.dll Error (How to disable UAC Setting)

In this post we’re mentioning one of the most popular Quality Center navigation problem users are facing.

Problem: 

When you try to navigate QC throwing belown exception ;

“CAPICOM:DLL is not properly installed or registered.
Please install CAPICOM.DLL and restart your browser.”

 

 

Reason:

If UAC settings on your OS is open you may face this error.

 

 

Solution: 

# Open Control Panel.
# Under User Account and Family settings click on the “Add or remove user account”.
# Click on one of the user accounts, for example you can use the Guest account.
# Under the user account click on the “Go to the main User Account page” link.
# Under “Make changes to your user account” click on the “Change security settings” link.
# In the “Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure” click to unselect the “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer”. Click on the Ok button.
# You will be prompted to reboot your computer. Do so when ready.
# Click to the Start –> Run and write belown command and click OK
Regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\capicom.dll
# Change the user control accounts setting back to the original setting and restart.

 

P.S. The way you can disable your UAC setting may vary according to your OS release, so if you can’t  find UAC setting with this way don’t worry, just try googling with right keywords :)
